About this newsletter

Another newsletter from Mallory Carra, who you likely know from West Coast Media Jobs (this is where the journalism jobs are). This one’s about food, pop culture and whatever else I feel like. I contain multitudes and this is my outlet for them.

I founded Couch Potato Cook as a food blog in late 2013. In 2014, it primarily moved to Instagram and grew a lot during the Early Influencer Days. And a decade later in 2024, it became S*bstack newsletter. Then I moved it off S*bstack. You know why.

Cadence is occasional. I won't spam you. I'm too busy for that, frankly. I’m currently an adjunct journalism professor and I've been a journalist for over two decades, writing and editing for major media outlets (The Guardian US, Comso, Teen Vogue, NY Daily News, Spotify etc.) covering sports, entertainment, real estate, food, and internet culture.
